THE BACKGROUND
Gaby's tennis journey began competitively, earning a Division I scholarship to play college tennis in the United States — a level that demands not just technical excellence, but mental toughness, consistency, and deep tactical understanding of the game.
After her playing career, she transitioned into coaching — first as an instructor at the prestigious Round Hill Tennis Club, and then building her own roster of private students across the East Bay. What started as a passion became a calling.
Today she works with adults and juniors across Walnut Creek, Alamo, and Lafayette — bringing the same standards she held as a D1 player to every single lesson.
COACHING STYLE
Gaby's coaching blends technical precision with a supportive, energetic teaching presence. She doesn't just tell you what to do — she helps you understand why, so corrections stick long after the session ends.
Students describe her as demanding but never intimidating. She reads each player's personality and adjusts accordingly — more patient with beginners, more competitive with advanced players.
On court she focuses on biomechanics, footwork patterns, and match-situation repetition — the pillars that separate players who plateau from those who keep improving.

THE PHILOSOPHY
Tennis is a technical sport — but it's also a mental one. Gaby believes real improvement comes from building strong fundamentals first, then layering in strategy, consistency, and match confidence over time.
She runs structured sessions with clear progression goals, not random drilling. Every lesson has a purpose, and every student leaves knowing exactly what to work on before the next session.
Above all, Gaby believes the court should be a place where players feel challenged and capable at the same time — regardless of their starting level.
